A CLOCKWORK ORANGE
Stanley Kubrick - US, UK I 1972- OmU
In London in a not too distant future, the young Alex (Malcom McDowell) is the leader of a youth gang. The group is striking with acts of violence and rape defenseless motivated only by the act itself. After the boys once again committed a burglary and murder, Alex is beaten down by a rebellious gang member and left to the police. The former leader comes to jail. Two years later, he must participate in a novel, government-initiated aversion therapy as a trial object. The therapy lasts 14 days and confronts Alex again and again with scenes of the strongest brutality. Then he comes free, but now is nothing more than an involuntary shell.
